Pete Denning started Referral while working his way through college in Houston, TX, in 1972. While earning his AA degree he roofed a US Homes subdivision adjacent to the college. One of the many custom homes his company roofed, was that of the Canadian that developed the Space Shuttle Arm. In 1978, he started another roofing company in Austin, TX. while also helping to start a new church. He remained in Austin until the Texas economy collapsed in 1987. During the 17 years in Texas, he taught many the roofing trade, several of whom started their own roofing business's. In 1988 he moved to Maryland to work with several of those whom he had taught the trade in Texas, whom had started a very successful roofing company in the Baltimore region. In 1991 he established his own residential new roofing and reroofing company and has since serviced 18 + subdivisions of NVR Homes along with many custom home builders. His company roofed the 1995 Better Homes and Gardens showcase home in Columbia, Md. and his company has roofed many of the largest homes in the Baltimore region.

As a Christian, he has sought to lead his company by the Golden Rule. To treat people, be it homeowners, employees, suppliers, or builders etc. as he would want to be treated. It is Referral Constructions goal to serve this need of people respectfully, honestly and diligently and thus leave them with the desire to refer us to the people in their sphere of relationship and influence.

Pete Denning has two sons by his wife Candy of 23 years, who was taken by cancer in 1997. He is married to Sharon and has gained 6 wonderful stepchildren. They are presently grandparents of 12. Sharon's two oldest sons are serving our great country in the military and two children remain at home.
